As a Microsoft partner, C3 Group attended the biggest ever Australia Partner Conference (APC) at the Gold Coast Convention Centre. Peter and Brian were able to network with other IT leaders to share ideas and discuss issues facing other SMB vendors. Peter was even invited by Microsoft to discuss Subscription based Licensing during one of the many seminars. . Technology Vision Seminar

C3 Group recently held two free “Technology Vision 2011 & Beyond” seminars at Pacific Bay Resort, one for organisations in the Public Sector, and the second event for our existing Managed Services clients. We also used the second event to unveil our new company name, C3 Group. Our company was previously known as Coffs Coast Computers. At both seminars, we revealed the C3 Group vision for the future of technology in 2011 and beyond. Brad Clarke from Microsoft was our keynote speaker, and gave a presentation on Cloud Computing, Microsoft’s vision for the Cloud and some challenges that it presents. Included in his presentation were live demonstrations of Cloud Computing in action. An example of this was the exiting new Unified Communications (UC) product Lync, which is one of the most exciting new products for business that we have seen in a long time. Other speakers included Jorge Ferreira and Clare Alexander from ASI Solutions who are C3 Group's primary supplier of on-premise equipment such as servers & workstations. Included in ASI’s presentation was a live demonstration of their Promethean Interactive Whiteboard (IWB) with extreme short throw projector, which allows for amazing collaboration in classrooms, training rooms & boardrooms. Chris Rowthorne from Colourworks Imaging Solutions also presented, and discussed the benefits of the Managed Print Services (MPS) model which is delivering cost savings and quality print solutions to organisations on the Coffs Coast and beyond. C3 Group aims to be our client's Trusted Adviser in all areas of technology. With the shift towards IT services being offered from the Cloud, we ensure that our clients get the best overall solution for their organisation. Matthew Hood | Manager, Telecommunications

Matthew manages our C3 Communications division and has had a long career working with PABX & IP Telephone systems, as well as Data & Phone cabling. Matthew is an Austel licensed cabler working with phone, Ethernet & Optical Fibre cabling. Matthew has attended various courses to further develop his knowledge on latest in IP phone technology and Unified Communications, with LG-Ericsson, Panasonic and various other vendors. With the convergence of computers and phones, Matthew works closely with our IT department to ensure our clients can harness the power of Unified Communications.

Brian Townley | Manager, IT

Brian joined C3 Group in 2008, and has more than 10 years experience in the IT industry providing solutions to small and medium sized clients. Brian is a Microsoft Certified Engineer and has completed various other courses and certifications with recognised industry partners such as Cisco & CompTIA. Brian joined C3 Group as a Senior Network Engineer, and is also now the IT manager of our Managed Services divisions which include C3 IT, C3 Hosting & C3 Cloud. Brian has a passion for IT, and is a well known and respected figure in the local community both personally and professionally.

Peter Hood | Business Development Manager

Peter has been involved in the IT industry since leaving high school. On the strength of his results in the higher school certificate, Peter gained a scholarship to study locally at Southern Cross University and commenced part time work at Coffs Coast Computers while undertaking his Bachelor of Information Technology. Upon completing his degree, Peter chose to remain in the family business. Peter has continued his studies since finishing university, and is a Microsoft certified engineer, as well as having completed various Microsoft, Cisco & CompTIA courses and certifications. Peter’s main focus working in the business over the past 10 years has been designing, deploying and maintaining small to medium sized networks utilising Microsoft Server technologies. More recently, Peter has focussed on developing C3 Group into a world-class IT support company, and is continually focussing on delivering cutting edge, and new and innovative products and services to clients.

John Hood | Founder, Managing Director

John is the founder of C3 Group, and has been working tirelessly in the business since its inception in 1995. John’s experience in the industry started back in 1976, when he worked full time maintaining a mainframe computer system that controlled a very large water purification plant that serviced the city of Melbourne. While working at the plant John attended college during the evenings, and gained a Certificate of Technology. After leaving Melbourne, John began a long career working in computers and other business equipment, such as phone systems, printer/copiers & cash register systems. After moving to Coffs Harbour in 1994, John pursued his dream of opening his own business and founded the C3 Group (known then as John Hood Electronic Services). With his wealth of knowledge and experience backed by a reputation for honesty and integrity, the business flourished from an early stage. John now has 35 years experience in the industry and remains passionate about making C3 Group the best company it can be, whilst maintaining relationships with his loyal clients.

With an LG IP Phone system, our clients can utilise Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) to have phone calls run over their Internet connection.
